NOTICE TO HOLDERS OF TOURIST RESIDENCE & GUEST HOUSE CERTIFICATES -27 September 2021
Reopening of Borders on 01 October 2021
TOURIST RESIDENCES
As you are aware, our borders will be opened as from 01 October 2021 and please note that tourist residences will be able to welcome the following clients:
(i) vaccinated clients from abroad immediately after their arrival;
(ii) unvaccinated clients from abroad after having completed their 14-day in-room quarantine; and
(iii) vaccinated and unvaccinated residents.
You are hereby informed that tourist residences are required to be certified “Safe Travel” and to comply with the Safe Travels Sanitary Protocol of the Tourism Authority (click here) as well as the other requirements prior to start of operations
GUEST HOUSES
As you are aware, our borders will be opened as from 01 October 2021 and guesthouses will be able to welcome local clients as well as those arriving from abroad.
You are hereby informed that guesthouses are required to be certified “Safe Travel” and to comply with the Safe Travels Sanitary Protocol of the Tourism Authority (click here) as well as the other requirements prior to start of operations

COSHARE PROJECT - 7 September 2021
The Tourism Authority has signed an Agreement on Thursday 2 September 2021 with the National Productivity Competitiveness Council to implement Operation COVID-19 Occupational Safety & Health and Resource Efficiency (COSHARE) in the Mauritian tourism sector. Enterprises in the tourism sector are invited to participate in the project.
A certificate will be awarded to trainers and beneficiary enterprises who have successfully implemented the project. A is herewith attached.

RENEWAL OF CERTIFICATES, LICENCES AND CANVASSER PERMITS
Holder of tourist accommodation certificate, tourist enterprise licence, pleasure craft licence for commercial purposes or canvasser permit which have expired from 20 MARCH TO 30 JUNE 2020 should apply for the renewal by 31 AUGUST 2020, failing which the Licence/Certificate/ Permit shall be deemed to have lapsed and these licensees shall not be entitled to the exemption from paymnet of licence fees for two years.
However, the following fees remain PAYABLE:
a. Application fee for renewal of licence and certificate (as applicable); and
b. Survey fee for pleasure craft
