The Tourism Authority Act 2006 was amended in 2008 in order to:
- make better provisions, regulating the operation of tourist enterprises, pleasure crafts and in particular to enable the Tourism Authority to issue provisional closing orders, provisional pleasure craft licences and enforcement notices;
- streamline certain provisions of the Act to facilitate its implementation;
- give to the Minister the power to make regulations to implement a point-system for the suspension of a skipper's licence.
New activities/enterprises (pubs, private clubs, dolphin and whale watching have been added in the list of tourist enterprises (First Schedule-Section 2)
